Built because the alternatives weren't good enough.
TrackLedgr started as an internal tool for managing IT assets across multiple clients. Every existing solution was either too expensive, too generic, missing the client portal, or required handing data to a third-party SaaS. So we built our own.
Why TrackLedgr exists
Spreadsheets weren't cutting it
Tracking hundreds of assets across dozens of clients in Excel is a full-time job — and a liability. Version conflicts, no audit trail, no automation, and zero visibility for clients who want to know what they're paying for.
SaaS tools charge per seat, per asset, per everything
The established players in this space charge per-user, per-asset, or per-customer fees that scale uncomfortably as your client base grows. For an MSP managing 50 clients, those fees add up fast — and you're still locked into their infrastructure.
Client portals were an afterthought
Most tools have no concept of a scoped client view. You either give a customer access to everything — which isn't appropriate — or you email them CSV extracts every time they ask a question. Neither is acceptable for a professional operation.
Regulated industries couldn't use cloud SaaS at all
Finance, healthcare, and government teams often can't put asset data in a third-party cloud environment. The market solution was "buy an enterprise contract with your legal team involved." TrackLedgr just runs on your own servers.
What guides every decision
Your infrastructure, your data
TrackLedgr is software you deploy and run yourself. Your data never touches our servers. There's no telemetry, no usage reporting, no lock-in. What you deploy is what you own.
Security is not a premium feature
Every security control we've built is in the base product — not locked behind an enterprise tier. httpOnly cookies, CORS lockdown, audit trails, and role-based access are table stakes, not upsells.
Operational simplicity
One deploy script. One update script. No Kubernetes required. No multi-service architecture to debug at 2am. TrackLedgr is a single Node.js process behind nginx — simple to run and simple to understand.
What's coming next
TrackLedgr is actively developed. Here's what's in progress and planned.
